Tra parole e immagini. Intelligenza Artificiale generativa e Graphic Design

Quale sarà l’impatto dell’Intelligenza Artificiale sull’arte e il processo creativo? Oggi è possibile generare immagini digitali evocative e stilisticamente originali attraverso l’uso di prompt, un codice semantico dalle combinazioni infinite. Tuttavia, questo non implica che gli strumenti tradizionali verranno abbandonati: chi utilizza matite, inchiostri, tele o macchine fotografiche non smetterà automaticamente di farlo, né sarà costretto a rinunciarvi.

What will be the impact of Artificial Intelligence on art and the creative process? Today it’s possible to generate evocative and stylistically original digital images through the use of prompts, a semantic code with infinite combinations. However, this doesn’t imply that traditional tools will be abandoned: those who use pencils, inks, canvases, or cameras won’t automatically stop doing so, nor will they be forced to give them up.

Artificial intelligence is such a broad concept that can no longer be analysed only from a pure technological angle. The focus of this book is to present the result of interdisciplinary discussions on artificial intelligence and humanity carried out at the Centre for Advanced Studies, Joint Research Centre, European Commission. It presents a collection of thoughts on the topic from emotions to creativity, from feminism to the environment. The book offers to the reader the joint reflection of artists, historians, sociologists, scientists and computer scientists to rediscover what Ties us Humans together (hence the title) over what divides us.

L’eBook, curato da Freddy Paul Grunert, insieme a Massimo Craglia, Emilia Gómez Gutierrez e Jutta Thielen-del Pozo, contiene 45 testi di autori di varia provenienza umanistica e scientifica. Reviewer dei testi sono Josephine Bosma, Pier Luigi Capucci, Derrick de Kerckhove e Warren Neidich.

HumaniTies and Artificial Intelligence is a digital book of the European Commission on the relationship between Artificial Intelligence and society from different perspectives.
